September Resident Highlight:

Joan Swallows

Before coming to SpiritCare, Joan Swallows lived in Wilmore, Kentucky. She and her husband, Roger Swallows, owned their store; Swallows Tack Shop. After her husband’s passing, Joan closed the shop and became a school bus driver for Jessamine County in Nicholasville, KY. She drove students for thirteen years before she moved to SpiritCare.

Joan’s favorite pastimes are taking part in the resident activities and enjoying the outdoors with long walks. She also has a passion for decorating! Joan’s room is always full of beautiful flowers, and she changes them for the different holidays and seasons. Christmas is her favorite season to decorate!

Words of Wisdom from Joan Swallows

Joan’s favorite encouragement verse to others is Philippians 4:13; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
